Before Plaza on University took over, Playalinda Surf Shop held it down at 12277 University Blvd, slinging surfboards, skate gear, and enough neon swimwear to make a 90s MTV Spring Break jealous. With roots in Titusville and an Orlando outpost that thrived through the late 80s and 90s, it was the go-to spot for UCF kids looking to trade textbooks for tide charts. If you ever flipped through Central Florida Future, odds are you saw their ads—probably wedged between a $5 pizza coupon and a classified for a used Honda Civic. Now, the shop is long gone, but the vibe lives on.
