Dunedin Boat Club

Anchored in community spirit since 1929, the Dunedin Boat Club began with 35 charter members under Commodore Dr. H.E. Winchester, determined to promote local sailing and develop Dunedin’s marina basin. After financing docks and slips through fish fries, dances, and member loans, the Club turned over marina ownership to the City in 1933 (securing a long-term lease), and soon built its now-historic Clubhouse in 1937. Today, with over 400 active members, the Dunedin Boat Club proudly continues its tradition of boat races, social gatherings, and preserving the city’s vibrant waterfront culture.
