Hollywood Bread

Founded in the 1940s by Eleanor Roth Hansberry, Hollywood Bread of Hollywood, Florida, was famed for its vegetable-flour diet breads and celebrity-endorsed ads featuring stars like Grace Kelly and Judy Garland. Despite its popularity, the company faced regulatory challenges and declined after Hansberry’s death in 1978, ultimately closing in the late 1990s. The historic Hollywood Bread Building was demolished in August 2021, paving the way for a vibrant mixed-use development.
