Channel Zero was a progressive dance club in downtown St. Pete, open ‘til 4 AM at 16 2nd St. Thursdays meant 25¢ drafts and $1 wells from 9 to 11 PM, while Fridays and Saturdays had $1 drafts, $1.25 wells, and a “Kill-The-Keg” free beer sprint from 11:30 to midnight. You had to be 18 to get in, 21 to drink, and probably a little unhinged to stay until closing. There’s a reunion page out there now if you’re feeling nostalgic or just need confirmation it wasn’t all a fever dream.
